Towing of Zagreb-1 to Libyan offshore



After successful completion of upgrade of semi-submersible drilling rig Zagreb-1 in shipyard „Brodotrogir“ (Trogir) and following preparation works for Libyan project, rig tow towards Libyan offshore started in the afternoon hours on Thursday, November 28, 2013. After a 10-day and 780 miles long tow with the assistance of towing vessels Moon and Christos XXIII, the rig will be positioned and anchored at the offshore location A1-16/3, northwest from Tripoli. Commencement of works is expected soon. CROSCO Operational base for Zagreb-1 supplies is set up in Tripoli. Upgrade of Zagreb-1 rig started in „Brodotrogir“ in January of 2011.
Upgrade works were extensive and included class renewal by Lloyd’s register and adjustments according to Total requirements. The majority of the works were performed by CROSCO, with the assistance of „Brodotrogir“ shipyard and their subcontractors.
